Psychotherapy is a way of stepping out of habitual day-to-day ways of being to understand what is causing unease or distress and what can be done about it. This is even more important during periods of change, difficulties and life transitions. I provide short and long term therapy and counselling for individual clients and for couples.

Transitions come in many shapes and forms. They can be subtle like noticing that something is missing, seems or feels different. Or they can be impossible to ignore. I work with clients going through times of change and transition in their lives. Most commonly these are experiences of major illness, the death of a loved one, divorce or separation.

Recovery

Recovery

Substances and addictive behaviours are often used to manage and gain temporary relief from intense feelings and hurtful thoughts. I support clients who realise that this is not a helpful long term strategy and are working on their recovery. This could be as part of 12 Step, SMART or other structured recovery programmes.
